Custom Vehicles
Unique projects require special efforts to research, design, and build your product. You will find our customer service, design, and attention to detail second to none. You and your team will enjoy working with our team, as we become partners in developing your ideas and turning them into the vehicle that meets your needs.
Below are a few samples of interesting solutions we've come up with to help solve our customer's problems.
Race Car Trailer ("Toy Haulers")
This trailer is commonly referred to as a “stacker”. It is designed with our unique lift system that allows the lift platform to tilt. Tilting allows a better load angle for those low to the ground race cars.
Mobile Display Vehicle
Our customer makes his living buying and selling auto parts at swap meet around the country. He wanted a motorhome as well as a way to store and display his auto parts. So behind the large rollup door in the side are custom made shelves. When he gets to the location he opens the door and he is ready for business.
Kansas Geological Survey
The Geological Survey approached our company needing a vehicle that combined an operating laboratory with a vehicle that could go off-road when necessary. Brown chose a chassis that has an air ride suspension system to protect the delicate laboratory instruments. The laboratory is also heated and cooled for maximum comfort for the scientists working inside the laboratory. The chassis was equipped with a hitch system capable of pulling a full size trailer loaded with heavy duty equipment.
Bloodmobile - Commercial Chassis
In an effort to reduce cost of vehicle acquisition, a Blood Service located in the South contacted Brown Specialty Vehicles to get them to help in the design of a vehicle to replace the “school bus” chassis currently used for bloodmobiles. Brown Specialty Vehicles was able to design a produce a body that is both aerodynamically and esthetically pleasing. It also has the option of being remounted and refurbished when the chassis life span expires.
TV Production Vehicle
The University of Kansas School of Communications needed a mobile studio for television production. We helped them with custom door openings, lighting and interior workspaces to fit their needs.
